Kate Spade Inspired Studs
(Difficulty: Medium)
Supplies
(1) Gold pyramid studs
(2) Earring posts + backs
(3) Nail polish (in the color of your choice, and clear topcoat/acrylic spray is optional)
(4) E6000 glue
(5) Scissors
(6) Tape
(7) Flatnose pliers
(8) Nail polish remover (optional)

Steps
1. Place a generous dollop of glue on your earring post and attach it to the back of your pyramid stud, let dry.
2. Use your flatnose pliers to bend down the prongs so that they won't scratch your ear when you wear them.
3. Cut out two strips of tape, about as thin as shown, and tape it cross-wise on your pyramid stud. Make sure that the tape is stuck to the stud as best as you can manage so the nail polish won't leak underneath.
4. Paint with nail polish. Let dry.
5. Remove the tape and touch up the edges with a q-tip and nail polish remover. Paint with clear topcoat or acrylic spray if needed.
If you're like me and completely botched up your first pair, never fear! Just wipe the whole thing down with nail polish remover and start over again. I think I'm going to make a pair in every nail polish color I have; enjoy! :)
