DIY | Father's Day Bowtie Jar

I was asked to help think up Father's Day presents to give out to all the fathers at my church. Since I wanted to keep the gift simple yet meaningful, I decided on a jar chock full of healthy goodies: a dried-fruit-and-nut medley. To decorate the jar itself, I used ribbon to make it look like a little tuxedo with a color scheme of black and white.

Don't limit yourself to just Father's Day though; these also make great quick birthday gifts all year round or wedding/party favors!

DIY Father's Day Bowtie Jar

(Difficulty: Easy)

Supplies

(1) Jar with clamp/lever (I got mine from Daiso for $1.50!)
(2) Snack bags (Mine were cute little poly bags with lace/heart designs on them, also from Daiso)
(3) Wrapping paper (Use up any leftover you have since you only need a little bit, I got mine in the sale section of Michaels for $2, or any paper will do)
(4) 3/8" ribbon
(5) 1-1.5" ribbon
(6) Double tape or glue gun
(7) Twist ties
(8) Scissors
(9) Tape
(10) Pliers

Steps

1. Using the enclosed paper that came with the jar, trace out the template onto your wrapping paper.

2. Place into your jar and form a ring, with the pattern facing out. Secure with tape.

3. Insert your poly snack back and fill with goodies! I used a mix of orange-cranberries, tart cherries, cashews, and apricots. Secure your poly bag with twist ties and close your jar.

4. Measure 6.5" of your thick ribbon. Cut out enough thin ribbon to go around the neck of your jar (mine came out to 14"). Place some double tape on the ends of each. Form your thick ribbon into a ring, using hot glue if you don't have double tape on hand.

5. Flatten your ring and pinch the middle to form a bow.

6. Use your thin ribbon to tie a knot to secure the bow. Wrap the thin ribbon around the neck of the jar and hot glue/peel the double tape to secure.

I had to make 35 of these but the cost only came out to ~$5 per jar, including the dried fruit inside! Feel free to put in your papa's favorite snack! Afterwards, he can reuse the jar for holding more goodies :)

** Don't wanna DIY? Prefer to B-U-Y? I'll be selling any extras I made, along with many other items, in my shop Two Teaspoons coming soon. Stay tuned!
