DIY | Advent Calendar Day 5: Origami Folding Box

Spotted this awesome find at Joann's: Coral-colored, chevron, Washi tape, on sale...what more could you want? I've seen so many Washi tape crafts floating around so I hope Debbie will find a project that could put this to good use! Today I don't have a template for you to download since I can't take credit for the box design; I had bookmarked this awesome origami folding box template from this Korean website Tweety Atelier for a while now, so do head over there for the template!

DIY Origami Folding Box

(Difficulty: Easy)

Supplies

(1) Download template (credit to Tweety Atelier) here
(2) Kraft paper
(3) Twine
(4) Double tape
(5) Scissors
(6) Hole puncher (not shown)
(7) Optional: X-acto knife + mat (not shown)
(8) Sticker label (not shown)

Steps

1. Print out the template right onto Kraft paper or trace it. Cut along the exterior lines and score along the interior lines (folding lines). Assemble the box.

2. Punch holes through the front and back of the box, right near the top fold line.

3. Place your gift inside and string your twine through the holes. Tie a bow. 

4. Attach a sticker label with the advent calendar day number or recipient's name.

The origami folding part is a little tricky but Tweety Atelier's site has some helpful step-by-step instructions for this intricate box. It's quite a treat to open too!
