DIY | Advent Calendar Day 14: Slip-Through Tissue Wrap

Debbie's a huge fan of sweet/sour candy so I instantly thought of her when I saw this box of Starburst. I don't know about you but I looove square/rectangular boxes b/c they're so easy to wrap :)

DIY Slip-Through Tissue Wrap

(Difficulty: Easy)

Supplies

(1) Kraft paper
(2) Tissue paper
(3) Popsicle stick
(4) Metallic marker
(5) Hole puncher
(6) Scissors
(7) Tape
(8) Scrap yarn/string

Steps

1. Wrap your gift with tissue paper and secure with tape.

2. Cut a strip of Kraft to a width slightly shorter than the box, whose length is long enough to wrap around the box. Wrap around your tissue paper layer and secure with tape, letting the color peek out of each side.

3. Punch a hole through each end of the popsicle stick. I find it easier to punch the hole when the popsicle stick is run under hot water.

4. Write your message / recipient's name on the popsicle stick.

5. Cut a length of string/twine long enough to wrap around the width of the box, with 4" extra. String it through the hole and wrap around the stick a few times, then tie a knot. Repeat with the other end through the other hole.

Voila! A simple yet pretty way to wrap up gifts with things other than regular wrapping paper!
