DIY | Rhinestone Wrapped Charm Bracelet

Google "wrapped bracelet" and you'll have to wade through the multitude of DIY bracelet tutorials out there...and it can be a bit overwhelming! I wanted to put my own spin on the wrapped bracelet, reminiscent of those sixth grade friendship bracelets except a bit fancier!

DIY Rhinestone Wrapped Charm Bracelet

(Difficulty: Intermediate)

Supplies

(1) Rhinestone chain (mine was gunmetal grey and salvaged from a gaudy old necklace)
(2) Lobster clasp and jump rings (in the same color as your chain)
(3) Embroidery floss
(4) Charm (to match your chain, not shown)
(4) Jewelry pliers
(5) Scissors
(6) A piece of tape (not shown)

What's ReadyCart?

Steps

1. Snip your rhinestone chain to your desired length. Cut a piece of embroidery floss six times the length of your chain.

2. Attach your lobster clasp with a jump ring. Position your floss as shown under the chain and make a knot before the first rhinestone.

3. Tape down your chain to a hard surface with a piece of tape.

4. You want to now see which loop sticks out. In my diagram, it's circled in yellow. This is where you will determine which side to work with first.

5. Take the strand from the same side as your sticking out loop and lay it over the rhinestone chain, forming a loose loop. This will be strand 1 (indicated in red).

6. Bring the strand from the other side (strand 2, in blue) over strand 1, under the rhinestone chain, and bring it through the loop you made from strand 1 from back to front. Pull to tighten.

7. Repeat step 5, working around the rhinestones as you go down. For my chain, I found that two knots between each rhinestone looked good.

8. Attach your charm to a jump ring. Bring your embroidery floss strands together in the middle and pass them through the jump ring.

9. Bring your jump ring all the way to the end of the chain and knot in place. Trim the ends of your floss and put a dab of clear nail polish to keep the knot intact.

Enjoy your new fancified friendship bracelet! These are such great little gifts and would look great stacked. Since my wrist is tiny, I can't really pull off the whole arm candy look so I just wear one or two of these at a time. Also, let me know how you guys are liking the ReadyCarts and if they're helpful :)
