DIY | Mixed Metal Tassel Necklace

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's got a ton of chain scraps lying around. For this DIY I used some leftover chain from another project and topped it with a pearl bead for that extra oomph. This is especially perfect for those days when I find it hard to choose between gold vs silver vs gunmetal gray accessories. Why not all three? Check out what I did with the rest of the scraps!

DIY Mixed Metal Tassel Necklace

(Difficulty: Easy)

Supplies

(1) Scrap chains (at least 3" long)
(2) Longer necklace chain
(3) Eye pin

Steps

1. Trim your chain to about 3" long, if they aren't already. I used six but add more if you wish.

2. Attach the chains to your jump ring, in addition to the eye pin at the end.

3. String on your first bead cap, the pearl, then your second bead cap.

4. Using pliers, form a loop. Attach to your necklace chain with another jump ring.

That's it! I love how versatile this necklace is. Still have some scraps left over? You can also make a pair of tassel earrings if you have enough chain :)

How do you use up your scraps?

** Don't wanna DIY? Faster to buy? I'll be selling any extras I made, along with many other items, in my shop Two Teaspoons coming soon. Stay tuned!

  1. That’s nice! Who would’ve thought these were made with scrap metals? Thanks to the creativity and resourcefulness of people like you, the number of metal scraps ending up in landfills could be lessened significantly. Cheers!
